Our new memorial orchard

The Centre gardens will be getting a new memorial orchard, thanks to recent funding

Grass field with memorial benches

The Centre gardens will be getting a new memorial orchard, thanks to funding from Warwickshire County Council’s Green Shoots Community Climate Change Initiative.

A small community orchard of 21 fruit Trees is currently being created and will provide tasty fruit to the local community.

We also have two memorial benches, which have generously been funded by Mota Singh's family.

The orchard and benches will serve as a memorial and token of lasting gratitude to people who have served the community.  These people include:

  • Mota Singh, who was instrumental in the creation of the SYDNI Centre.
  • Lilian Brocklehurst, a dedicated volunteer at the SYDNI Centre since its inception, who recently passed away.
  • Kate Cliffe, our Centre manager for 14 years. Kate is now enjoying her new job at Warwick District Council
